I'm not super strict about the recipe, I believe in variety, esp. when you're on a LONG fast. Anyways, carrot, celery, garlic, onion are always my base. The purple or blue color veggies are the ones I rotate and play with.... I just put whatever I can get my hands on depending on what's in season and on sale... Cabbage (Purple or White), Beets (Purple or Yellow), Turnips, Kales are the popular items for me. And, I quite often toss in a ginger-ice-cube (pre-made) to jazz things up.
