Re: Fasting / Eating / Moderator (edit)

I don't think I have ever told anyone that fasting should be used as a last resort. I have said that I personally intend to use fasting as a last resort for weight loss in my own health journey because of the metabolic slow down issue, or I may change my mind and do one anyway. Depends how I feel. I rarely give advice on fasting for healing because I have never done it and don't know much about it, that's why. My knees have improved, but there again I am now 100 pounds lighter. I only like to advise on stuff I have experienced. Plus I now realize it's not the best solution for weight loss, something that has been said consistently on WF support for many years, going back to Hopinso and the original forum founders. I realized this when I started to encourage others to fast for weight loss, and ended up with loads of unhappy people with rock bottom self esteem who failed. Successes are very rare. So that's why I don't have much to say on water fasting. I just support people when I can.

Regarding food, there are things I now know that I never knew before, and all that stemmed from a change in appetite after fasting, which I really didn't expect. Now I know people can come of all medication, reverse heart disease, reverse type 2 diabetes, even heal cancer by eating good food. It's potentially given me decades more of good quality life, I could never have dreamed of this 2 years ago. Now I too am in the same situation as Dr John McDougall in that video I posted yesterday. am now healthier at 53 than I was at age 23. Most of the stuff I post on food is at Diet and Nutrition anyway //www.curezone.org/forums/s.asp?f=14&ob=d&c=0&t=150&m=mouseclick
- and others who started with Water Fasting have gone there and post there too.

Now even if fasting can cure some of those things, what would be the point in not eating properly after the fast? It would be like cleaning out the fuel tank of a car and putting dirty fuel back in.

Anyway I have moved on to other things such as peak oil, permaculture and post industrial society plus I will be not available so often soon as I'll be catching up with all the good things I have missed in my life, amongst other things. So I'll be posting less. But I guess others like waterbug will continue to use the N word, and you'll still have the G word associated with fasting I am sure. After all, Jesus did it for 40 days.

(edit)
One final point. I think I have made it clear that I am not particularly interested in fasting, other than to know I can do it and it may be a very useful tool one day.

However, this is what the Webmaster says about what makes a good moderator. The full post is here. //www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=879186#i

I quote:
"Those who were not emotionally involved into the subject of discussion, they did the best moderator job. They were the only people who could stay impartial."

Now I know Chrisb1 may be quite knowledgeable, but I know he compensates for that and goes out of his way to be reasonable to people. He did it with Brucester, in this forum and in WF support. But it made no difference.

Webmaster goes on to say:
"...there are also people who abuse their posting privileges, who waste our energy, who play games, or are simply mentally sick ... and sometimes, you just have to react with a strong hand and ban those people."

...and after seeing the weekends discussion between Brucester and Chrisb1, I am glad I did it. We have had people in the past who have quit Water Fasting when there were such arguments.

Now if Brucester had come on criticizing another member for talking about food in such a rude way, I would have taken similar action. However he seems to have done because I expressed my opinion as a moderator, which he disagrees with. This is a mistake that people often make, thinking the moderators are in some way in charge of the forum and control the agenda. I am not, nor am I particularly interested in water fasting.

Regarding what you said about me being more serious or whatever it was, I can say that my self esteem is much higher now, and as a result I am less tolerant of people who personally insult me.

The moderator(s) of this forum have got it right, they are anonymous. Less crap to deal with, and an anonymously moderated forum has less "anti authority" rebels, and they don't have to take any crap when they remove people's bad messages here, or block them.

PS as far as I am aware Brucester is the only person who is currently blocked from posting at Water Fasting, that's how "authoritarian" we are. Don't know about what happened previously though.
