AMEN! I had a similiar situation like you. I was invited by a co-worker to attend a local Church that I had never been to. The initial interaction went well, but soon after I became a regular I started to see how the Church and it's congreation really were. The Pastor had brain washed all the members in believing that Christ was the only way, and that if you don't become born again, Christ doesn't love you and the only way to be saved was through Christ. He was very manipulative and abusive and could not tolerate anyone challenging his belief. The children had been so misled that they could not get along with other students and the school ended up transferring them elsewhere. I found that allot of what the Pastor was preaching was not the truth, but merely his own interpretation of the truth. I ended up leaving the Church, which I felt was the best thing I have ever done. I no longer attend or belong to any organized religious functions. I am happier and feel that it was the right decision.
