--Feed the Soil Life properly to end up with Top Quality garden plants--

Hi #20928,

Your question: Any tips or special nutrient requirements for a tomato plant during the vegetative state? How do you recommend fertilizing the soil during this phase in growth?

Answer: This may be one of the Hardest things to get folks to understand?

A Quick change by fertilizer application to the soil may not produce Positive Results?

We Must Learn to Feed and care for the Soil Life to find Gardening Simple and Rewarding !

This requires us to think and plan ahead !

Many times Years ahead !

Starting out by learning to return to the soil any weeds or other Plant matter residue to feed the Soil Life that may be growing on this soil!

When we use Herbicides to Kill weeds and pesticides and fungicides etc, we are Killing the Soil Life and Failing to receive God's Gift of Rebuilding the Soil by the action of the Soil Life feeding on this plant matter !

When we have Killed the Soil Life which is supposed to turn plant residue into organic matter the soil may not release the steady supply of needed Electro-magnetic Energy to help the plants grow !

Yet, when we learn to feed and properly care for the Soil Life it then shall work 24 hours around the clock making Organic Acids that may react against the Alkaline Minerals to Cause a steady supply of this needed Electro-magnetic Energy to grow our Garden plants !

Mulching with plant residue is one of the 1st steps to Successful Gardening !

Mulch provides a shelter for the Soil Life as well as food to eat and temperature control when we use thick enough Mulch?

The Greener the Mulch the easier the Soil Life can Digest it and feed the growing plants !

The Drier the Mulch may be the Longer it may take for the Soil Life to Digest?

If we use wood chips the Soil Life cannot Digest this fast enough to feed Growing plants like Cabbage etc?

Wood chips may be fine for flowers etc that we do not want to produce leafy greens to eat, if the soil already has enough Organic matter?

But, if the Soil does not have enough Organic matter then wood chips may not provide what the Soil Life needs to eat and Live and grow?

The Greener the Mulch the easier the Soil Life may be able to Digest this plant matter and turn it into Organic matter and plant food?

For plants needing to grow, if one has poor Soil to start with one may water the plants using 1 Tablespoonful of BSM in 1 gallon of water each time and this may boost the Soil Life?

One may add 1 teaspoonful of fish emulsion to this for more boost?

If our tomatoes are Vegetating too much and failing to set Blossoms there are several things we may do:

Prune the suc***s off: This may help throw the plant Cationic and help set fruit?

Add 1 cup of ACV to 5 gallon of water and water the plant with this once?

Add 1 tablespoonful of Epsom Salt to 5 gallon of water and water the plant?

These things may not be needed if we have added some Bone meal to the soil before hand and the soil Life has Digested enough of this into the Organic matter mix?

Cause and Effect !

Smile Tis your choice.
