theories on mirena-please add/dispute/continue
these are the theories I have come up with. I know several of us are working on them. If we can start with this list, copy and paste each time you have something to add, and please dispute if I am wrong. maybe we can really have something to take to the docs, or at least give direction to our newbies....;0
Where mirena goes wrong:
1) anonvulation/sythetic hormone-lack of natural progesterone because syntetic is fooling body it thinking it doesnt need to make more. Progesterone is primarily created when we ovulate, sythetics doesn’t do the same things as far as the chain to other hormones. Possibly, some women have well enough functioning adrenals to produce enough natural progesterone to compensate? Most likely to effect those of us under stress or with already weak adrenals. throws hormonal system out of whack. Also, those of us on the way to menopause, get a good kick in that direction with the reduced natural progesterone.
2)allergic reaction to sillicone.
3)reaction to levonorgestrel-metabolized in liver. Pure b/s it isnt in the blood. Poor liver function messes with estrogen functions.(estrogen dominance) underlying liver problems would expasterate.
4)underlying autoimmune problems. this is lupus, thyroids, rheyards, connective tissue, adrenals, alopeica areata, celiac, and many more-this is typically genetic (we already had it)-trigger effect caused by mirena-silicone released (probably those of us with later results) or possibly just the reaction to the foreign body of iud, (hormonal or not).
Conclusion-mirena causes different reactions in all of us, and also explains why some don’t have any reaction at all. Some have both hormonal reaction AND underlying autoimmune-probably those who take the longest to recover.
please add to this and keep the thread going if you think it is WORTHY :) LUV you gals!
