Like a self regulating pump.

The delay, I presume, is an indicator of adrenal function. The lower the drop and the longer the delay time for you "pump" to normalize pressure.

Not unlike a oil pump in the car's engine. You rev up the engine and the more oil will be pumped. But when you have a malfunction down the line such as a slow leak in the oil cooler(adrenals) oil pressure will drop causing all kinds of problems. (like adrenal fatigue) Once we replace/repair the part in question pressure will resume to normal levels. (in the case with our adrenals a repair job is more feasible.)
