Very concerned! - Thinks n' thoughts: Re: Developed a sensitivity/allergy to cayenne?

Howdy Insight! - 'Gonna do inserts here to make sure I don't mess anything important :)

I've been taking cayenne and eating hot peppers pretty regularly the past few months, and it has been definitely benefiting me. I've gained a pretty strong tolerance for the heat as well. That be good news - cayenne is wonderful!  That underlined sentence is very much going to come into play further down.

However, lately I've been getting a lot of head and neck pressure, even feeling it in my eyes at times. In my neck it feels strongly like my jugular veins or carotid arteries are clogged and closed up during that pressure, even though they're obviously not (I'd be stroking if that was the case).Well, you don't have to be 'stroking' to have a major/minor carotid/jugular blockage.  Rocky53 has a diagnosed carotid blockage and there's virtually no symptoms (dizziness upon rising and a slight equilibrium/balance thing, but that could be several different things...and since the balance/equilibrium is going away since we started B&B in the ears, basically the carotid blockage isn't 'throwing symptoms'  that are recognizable. It's pretty disabling, especially considering that it's on top of all the other health issues I'm dealing with. It takes several hours to pass, and the other day it lasted all day and I woke up with it still lingering a little. Ouch + yikes.  I'd like to see you get aggressive with this - it doesn't sound to me like anything to fool around with

I began wondering what it could be or what could be causing it. At first I thought it could be blood sugar spikes. I'm not diabetic, however I've been drinking more raw juice and eating fruits more than I ever have in my life, so it seemed plausible. I started drinking olive oil again regularly to counter that possibility, and it gave me some relief for a day or two. I understand why you'd consider it, but a blood sugar spike doesn't last for hours, and I've never heard of that feeling like "pressure".  And I don't know how olive oil would counter the possibility of a blood sugar spike :( maybe you know sumpin' I don't, if so...please share! :)  I don't think 'blood sugar' adds up to your symptoms.

Then on easter the other day I had that head pressure a little, so I took some cayenne thinking that perhaps it was high blood pressure causing that neck/head pressure. So, you haven't been taking the cayenne tincture/powder (?) consistently on a daily basis? The pressure got stronger over the next two hours and I quickly went back home to measure my blood pressure to see if that was really the culprit. And no, it wasn't. My blood pressure was normal despite the pressure sensations.Cayenne will always normalize/regulate your blood pressure.  You might have had high BP before the cayenne, but it would be extremely rare that you'd have high BP after cayenne. I checked it again several times the next few days when I felt pretty bad and each time my BP was fine.  When you say 'several times/next few days...is that consistently with or without the cayenne? <---- important question.

I didn't take any cayenne on Tuesday or Wednesday, and I didn't really experience those sensations much. However, on Wednesday afternoon I ate some spicy cocktail and I immediately got that pressure again, in my neck. I went home to check my blood pressure one last time to see, and again it was normal, so I think the peppers are the cause. So far I've got one cayenne dose and one 'spicy cocktail' dose = "occurence" ....but several other occurences without cayenne?

I ate some spicy snack earlier today and I developed that pressure again, with a headache, so I'm pretty sure.  'just need to solidly confirm...this ONLY happens when using cayenne, or it happens sometimes WITHOUT using cayenne?

It seems like I've developed an allergy or sensitivity to peppers. Someone even suggested that to me on Easter but I dismissed it, even though that little voice inside ("the doctor within") agreed. That would be one VERY strange "allergy/sensitivity" symptom - reaction (very strange).  But if you've a carotid/jugular blockage or malformation (which is possible, due to the neck injury and twisting out of place) - it makes sense that when the cayenne tries to regulate the circulation, and the circulation 'can't get through', that you'd feel pressure.

I've heard of people developing allergies suddenly when they eat a lot of one kind of food, including cayenne and peppers. Perhaps that is what is going on with me. Yes, a substantial amount of one single food over a period of time (when the liver is not 'up to par', or one is substantially throwing off the nutritional balance) can cause our bodies to say "no more already!"...but we're talking "enough" to cause stress to the liver or to throw of the nutritional balance substantially.  So (from above)
I've been taking cayenne and eating hot peppers pretty regularly the past few months how much cayenne/hot peppers is "pretty regularly"?  Dr. Schulze had extremely compromised/ill/dying patients taking up to several TABLESPOONS daily of ultra-hot cayenne powder.  Perhaps I'm misinterpreting here, but I'm not "getting" that you've been regularly & consistently eating so much cayenne/hot peppers that you could have thrown a nutritional imbalance.

I was reading this article (http://www.southsidepride.com/0201/herbal.html) that suggested that food allergies are actually nutritional deficiencies, with pepper allergies being a niacin deficiency for example. I think I'm going to give this theory a try because I feel vulnerable without the option of cayenne, plus I really enjoy spicy foods.  Not knowing what your diet is like, there's no way for me to know if you're niacin deficient...and not knowing if you've done a thorough colon cleanse and whether or not you're assimilating nutrients from food makes any suggestion on my part VERY "iffy". If you want to supplement with niacin, do it.  You might learn something...but cayenne doesn't cause a niacin difficiency...lack of assimilation, lack of niacin rich foods (possibly, as most B vitamins come from liver, chicken, tuna, salmon, & PEANUTS yay for a nut source), lack of proper liver function...you get the point).

Lack of B vitamins in vegan/juicing diet is why it's SO important to take Superfood that has ample nutritional yeast! (I'm not yelling at YOU, insight, I'm just yelling  :::wink:::).

Any ideas, advice, suggestions, or similar experiences? Quite honestly, this concerns me very much (especially knowing all those muscles, ligaments, arteries have been yanked out of place for so long).  I'd attack this seriously and aggressively.  Castor oil pack around the entire neck with heating pad EVERY night - no exceptions; hot/cold treatment to the entire area 3-5x daily (hand-held shower is fantastic, hot/cold packs'll work, but not quite as effective...start with hot for 2 minutes, then go cold/hot 5-7 reps, end on hot);  Ginkgo Biloba is fantastic for cleansing the arteries and increasing circulation to the head (and thinning the blood)! http://www.healthy.net/scr/article.asp?ID=1169 I've got the tincture, but if you can't afford it, get a pound of Ginkgo and start drinking 5 cups of Ginkgo Tea daily.  Also raw garlic, 5-10 cloves daily (same reason, to clean out the arteries); also good (same reason) Alfalfa tea (you could mix up alfalfa/ginkgo tea, that'd work)...Bilberry to improve the elasticity of the veins/arteries and as an anti-inflamatory (again, I have a tincture), but you can sometimes  find them online (they're pricey, like $12.50 for a 1/4#, but amazingly Starwest IS 'in stock' http://www.starwest-botanicals.com/category/bilberries/ ) - and do whatever it takes to be get back on the cayenne.  Of all the things above, the castor oil is EXTREMELY important/effective.

If you want to let me know what other health issues you're dealing with, I'll be happy to help.  It sounds to me like it's time to start trying to fight 'all the whatevers', and start dealing with a full body program so your body has the chance to heal itself!  From a previous post: Think of it like restoring an automobile that's been driven hard & fast for 20 years without much regular maintenance. The exhaust is clogged, the fuel lines are filthy, the oil/filter needs changed, the carburetor needs calibrated and cleaned, sparks & plugs changed & gapped, alternator fixed/adjusted; overall suspension aligned; new tires needed, brake pads replaced., etc. If you cleanse the exhaust & fuel lines (similar to the colon & parasite) before cleansing the oil/filter and carb (liver & parasites), you end up filthy fuel lines and clogged exhaust before you get the carb/oil/filter done. New tires & brake pads before an alignment? A waste of new tires/brake pads. If the alternative is 'shorting or weak' that stresses all the system parts. The human body is no different. It's always much more effective to 'put it up on blocks' and do a full body cleanse/restore, than it is to do it one at a time. Yep, it's more work, but it's FAR more effective (and you'll get MUCH more life out of the car by doing it that way). Remember: in this toxic/poisoned world, our bodies are like high-performance automobiles CONSTANTLY in overdrive (generally running on VERY low grade fuel with extremely little maintenance). There's no truly safe/healthy protocol (maintenance) we can do, that's as extreme as the totally unnatural conditions we live in.

Insight, if money is tight, I really do empathize (and understand) - but I also understand exactly how important you health truly is.  If someone precious to you needed you to help them (or died and you had to go to the funeral), or you were robbed and HAD to come up with money for the food/utilities, I bet you could do it.  You are VERY important!  I don't give a HOOT whether you buy a dime's worth from me (I can give you recipes and sources to make your own 'everything')...but please consider addressing everything at once.  I really don't like the sound of this head/neck/pressure issue, and I want to hear about you getting BETTER...FAST!!!

BIG blessings -

Unyquity
