The Department of Children and Family Services wants to keep the children with the parents if at all possible and generally sets up counseling and parenting classes to help the family if the children are not in immediate danger.

If it is deemed a false report because the children are in good health and parents seem good then they leave and note that in the system.

If there is immediate danger to the children, physical or sexual abuse, or drugs involved in the home, then bam they can take them away.

If there is a good parent in the home and the other parent is bad in some way, then the good parent needs to get the hell out of there. The officials will often give the good parent the chance to kick out the bad parent or to move out with the child to get away from the situation.

Some kids fall through the cracks and get left in an unsafe environments even after visists from Child Protective Services. Some kids get plucked out of their good home when that shouldn't happen.

People who have been falsly accused need to get every upstanding character witness they know to do a written testimony for them to present to the court. Also, people can draw up legal requests that family members be the foster parents/legal guadians until the situation is resolved.
