Well, in terms of 'official labelling' ''practicised'' on the mentally-illed ones, just consider the scenario taking place in the ancient Bedlam
'...the root cause of each person's illness is to cure it, not just treat the symptoms. There are many different reasons why people get sick. It's not one-pill-fits-all, or even one diet cures all.'
Yes, I quite agree with you. rather than being any somatic (bodily physical) disorders caused by infections, other substantial injuries etc, mental illnesses are actually something largely and mainly caused by psychological and cognitive factors. Hence, other efforts like psychotherapies, interactive, interpersonal, emotional, moral and communication supports (especially from the ones close to the mentally-ill persons who in turn would feel comfortable with their close companies) would be needed to complement the use of such pills / medications.
In such connection, pills / medications meant for mental illnesses would simply serve no more purposes than to just essentially bring the hardly controllable symptoms of the mental disorders, such as dejected moods, violent emotional outbursts, suicidal thoughts etc under control. And since the mechanism involved is entirely artificial (which involves only the temporary blocking of the synaptic activities of the neurons / neurotransmitters in the brains), medications alone hence is simply not a total solution to mental disorders. Hence the ones troubled with mental disorders simply should not heavily / over-rely on medications to deal with their problems.
'I work in a state hospital and I see doctors label young men with serious mental disorders every day. It should be illegal.'
Yup, that's true. From the psychological point of view, such an action would just actually be no different from openly disparaging the status of those 'officially labelled' as 'the ones with serious mental disorders', particularly when their 'mentally-illed' status are openly exposed to the awareness of the numerous others, who might in turn tend to have unflattering, or rather disparaging impressions and opinions about these people who are so labelled. Consequently, that would just result in those persons involved to have an even lower self-esteem, self-worthiness and self-respects, even among their close ones. Over time, such 'official labellings' may just foster and ferment greater and greater levels of inferiority complex among those persons, and it may lead to them to eventually feeling oppressed, despaired, outcast and having stronger and stronger suicidal thoughts.
In a nutshell, such a 'official labelling' will just serve to make things worse for the ones troubled with mental disorders, and to a certain extent, that's simply callously inconsiderate, or rather, inhumane.
In such a connection, such a practice of 'official labelling' which is forcibly imposed upon those mentally-illed people and getting their 'mentally-impaired identities' officially and openly known to the awareness of general public, well, such a scenario simply reminds me of the sorry plight of those brutally and ruthlessly maltreated mentally-illed victims confined in the mental hospital of Bedlam in the ancient times, whereby these pathetic people were openly paraded in front of the paying tourists for their sheer amusements of throwing ridicules, mockings and derisions at thse mentally-illed victims. And how saddening that such a sinister monstrosity actually still recur and manifest in the modern civilised era of the 21st century.

The Hospital of Saint Mary of Bethlehem, a London mental hospital commonly known as Bedlam, sold admission tickets to the public in the 18th century, becoming a popular tourist attraction. In this engraving by English artist William Hogarth, part of his series A Rake’s Progress (1735), two women (seen in the background) tour the hospital, watching the mentally ill patients for their amusement. The hospital became notorious for its miserable conditions and cruel treatment of patients.

'The videos below where doctors explain how the DMS lV is bogus and psychiatrists never cure anyone should be taken seriously. Here it is from the thread below...'
As a matter of fact, most of the psychiatrists and other doctors nowadays are realistically more and more concerned and interested, or rather obsessed with the profit / money that they could potentially earn from their potential patients or rather customers, to be precise.
For the purpose of achieving that goal, they are just more than willing to resort to any unscrupulous means to abuse the health care interests of their patients.
Included below is a weblink related to the experiences of me and the numerous others in the course of seeking treatments from the psychiatrists for our mental disorders.
