I can vouch for this thread. I was diagnosed with ADHD as a kid and put on meds. I had a lot of energy and was the class clown, so I got bad grades and goofed off a lot. My psychiatrists decision? I was put on a potent anti-psychotic (respidrol, I believe it's spelled) at the age of 13. Then onto Paxil which caused me to gain weight and I ballooned up to 320. Luckily, at the age of 21, I'm off of all of that and down to a healthy weight, but who knows how bad those pills damaged my body at such a young age.
