Weight training every day - is that OK?


I am getting fit and losing weight. I was told by my gym that I should leave a few days between weight training to allow time for the muscles to heal. Elsewhere I heard once a week is sufficient to build muscles, just keep pushing the limits and increase the weight progressively.

However I feel like doing it again, even the day after I go there. I guess it's kinda addictive, which is a good thing!

Is it OK to do weight training every day?
