He made home-made ionic silver and contaminated it with salt (resulting in silver chloride) and then not only rubbed it on his face daily but also drank over a quart a day for months on end.  If you want to be a Smurff that is a sure fire formula.  On the other hand, I am not aware of anyone who ever turned blue from taking properly made and adminstered colloidal silver or ionic silver either.  The mainstream medicine crowd and the media they have en thrall loved parading him around to warn people against colloidal silver because it represents a threat to billions of dollars in annual profits made by mainstream antibiotics which are less effective, less safe and far more expensive.
