Re: Dear Tony - question re Selenium
"I can surely relate to pain keeping you from sitting at the computer for very long as I recently am experiencing quite a lot of it myself due to sciatica likely caused by an indirect inguinal hernia. Ultimately, mainstream corrective surgery may be the only option!"
Don't mess around with hernia Tony. 2 years ago, I developed a right inguinal hernia. It just kept getting bigger. Support belt did not help. Gave in to the Doc. He said that it can cause a 911, if it breaches the muscles. He said that the muscles can strangle it when it punches through; and that would be very dangerous. I thought that was a risk worth seeing a surgeon. I researched the Internet heavily. Just get it done.
Mine was from mowing the lawn. I'm on a hill in the central TX hill country. It was very hot; as you know it can get around here. I was stupid. First developed sciatica, which I managed through gentle exercise. Got over that; but notices bulge in the inguinal area.
I know this sounds like such negative info. I was bummed out too. I had not been to any doctor for more than a decade and had never been in a hospital since I was born. It was a 40 minute surgery under heavy anesthesia. The biggest problem was the few days after. Intense pain getting in and out of bed and in and out of a chair. At least, you have help at home to help you up and down. I did not. The hardest part was getting up to go to the bathroom during the night. Took 20 minutes to get out of bed.
Good luck with that. Maybe it isn't even a hernia.
