Re: MMS and DMSA
"it would be very wise to first remove the parasites from your body and THEN attempt to chelate the heavy metals"
Interestingly, that is exactly the same approach that the DAN! (Defeat Autism Now!) Autism doctors take. DAN doctors are a national affiliation/network of MD's who believe that Autism is treatable primarily with Mercury chelation work and gut/Candida work and a strict gluten-free/casein-free diet. Apparently, the Autistic kids typically have severe gut problems due to Candida, and Candida is aggravated by Mercury.
I am not Autistic, but I had seen a DAN MD just to get some guidance/knowledge/insight regarding Mercury chelation, and this DAN MD that I saw insisted that I must first do a protocol of anti-Candida prescrip meds and do a strict anti-Candida GF/CF diet before doing any chelation work. This doctor told me that I had to kill off the Candida first before doing any DMSA, because the sulfur in the DMSA would feed the Candida. I got no real benefit from the anti-Candida prescrip meds that this doctor prescribed; I tried about five different anti-Candida prescrip meds via this DAN doctor, tried one at a time in a specific DAN-directed sequence.
For the record, I got no new chelation knowledge from this DAN doctor; I was very disappointed to learn that this DAN doctor's "great" chelation plan was to eventually have me take oral DMSA down the road. You see, I had already done several bottles of DMSA before even seeing this DAN doctor (you do not need an MD to get DMSA), and the DMSA did nothing for me back then.
iloveamma, FYI, oral DMSA is nothing special; it is known as being only a very weak chelator of Mercury, it aggravates Candida, and it depletes good minerals. Perhaps the MMS itself can also eliminate your Mercury, and then you won't have to do any chelation at all. By the way, what tests have you done which indicate that you indeed have a Mercury problem?
iloveamma, as far as your own bad experience that you described above is concerned, no one can say for certain whether you are just having a classic case of MMS-induced severe die-off reactions or else a bad interaction with DMSA. Who really knows? I would say though, just stick with the MMS standalone at very low doses, because the MMS obviously seems to be doing stuff bigtime in you.
Hang in there,
