Re: On day 16 of water fast and detoxing is harsh!
I can identify. I'm on day 11, (or day 29 as I like to think in counting down, not up,) and though this fast seems to be easier than some others--so far--I have the hardest time bearing the thrush and the bloody gums at night. I believe prayer is strengthening me in this one and I am determined not to give up, though thus far that temptation has not yet arisen. Just me wait.
I also believe that "toughing it out," is essentially what has to happen. But I am finding that one morning enema makes me feel more revitalized rather than sluggish in the course of a day. Rinsing my bowel tract, when it otherwise is not doing its job at this stage, works for me. I can see the bilious release and I can't imagine having that stick around longer is somehow a benefit to the process. In previous longish water fasts--21 and 23 days--I didn't use enemas and it was all I could do to lift my head off a pillow.
I am also a firm believer in Sole, that salt water concoction I've mentioned twice on this forum. One teaspoon in the first morning's water is like a miracle sustainer across the day.
Good luck--let's hang in there together!
BTW, I'm new to this forum, and my name is Lindsay.
