Re: Self-testing for candida and intestinal parasites

"Diagnosis is important, because the drugs are heavy, and not do not guarantee success" - Shroom

And that's exactly what I find so frustrating, even disheartening. How do I know what the right path to take is? Especially when every bit of money I spent could be used somewhere else?

I'm feeling low because I saw my GP today and she essentially told me there's no such thing as candida, they don't test for parasites, and that it, along with fibromyalgia, is a mental disease capitalized on by people out to make money.

I know it's an old story, but I was still shocked. I had carefully prepared some printouts from various websites -- including the NHS site itself -- and she actually refused to look at them.

So I'm back on my own. I'm still thinking of getting the tests done, and look forward to hearing the other results, but even then, deciding on the right course of action feels overwhelming just now. Just gotta keep my spirits up and keep at it.
