I don't know about cig smokers dying young. Both my grandfathers smoked moderately, and lived until well into their 90's. They smoked and didn't stress about it. In my previous job I saw a lot of moderate smokers who lived long and healthy lives. I think there is a psychological position to the whole anti-smoking debate. We are now bombarded with anti-smoking messages, smokers are treated like scum. I believe there is a 'pointing the bone syndrome at work' if you are told that smoking will kill you and you believe this , then you will die of it. If you aren't told that it will kill you it wont. I have seen many cases of people with cancer that die of old age. They didn't know they had cancer so it didn't effect them during their lives. I have a personal belief that we attract what we fear the most. Just my POV.
