Re: John E. Water Machine
I agree with some of the comments in this post and would like to add: I've used variations of Ellis's water machine since 1995. I've posted in the past about using this water and the run-off water to keep a fifty gallon indoor turtle pond pristine - without any use of chemicals or treatments other then a mechanical filter for the natural waste of the turtle. I have a thirty gallon aquarium and have NO filter at all - not even for the fish waste and the water and "waste" water from the Ellis machine has kept the water pristine. This means no algae even though the sun comes through the window and contacts the tank each day. As for the natural waste of the fish - it settles into the gravel and - who knows - decays or does whatever but I'll tell you this - the tank is pristine and there is no smell and the fish thrive. So there's something for all the experts to ponder.
As for the price of the Ellis machine. Here is my problem. The inventor claims to not care about money and has stated how he has enough of it and has contributed to his community by donating this and that. If this is true, then why not create an affordable product. How can this be done? Simple. Take your basic water machine - the Water Wizard which you invented decades ago - and make it available for under $600. Part for part - the Water Wizard is the SAME EXACT machine as the Electron - 3, 4, 5, - whatever you're calling your latest machine - except for the ultraviolet bulb. This bulb is supposed to add extra electrons to the water but where is the actual proof that this is helping people? I originally purchased the Living Water Machine for it's ability to distill water when I found out that my PUBLIC tap water was contaminated with raw sewerage (Seaside Heights, New Jersey, 1988) and I began to research distillers. This machines came with literature that claimed a lot of the things that the newest machines claim. If John E., and his handful of staff that produce these machines, had the health of the public in mind, he would produce a basic distiller and keep the price in line with his costs of stainless steel etc. I've been upset with a newer machine that I purchased when I realized that they cut corners and put a few iron nuts and bolts in - that I had to replace due to rust - in what they advertised as ALL STAINLESS STEEL! As for the heaters on this machine - use vinegar and they never burn out. I have ordered spared heaters as backups "just in case" but I have the original 1500 watt heaters from 1995 - still running.
As for the run-off water or "waste water" as it's known - you just have to use your head. I run it into my washing machine or collect it to top off aquariums or put it outdoors for stray cats and animals - birdbaths - etc. The machine isn't a "set it and forget it" QVC machine - but if you're not fussy about where you set it up - and you want the cleanest water on the planet, then its for you. I'm just disgusted that he charges 3 times what I paid for for the basic machine and I wish he'd do the public right by clipping the greed.
If anyone would like to ask me questions or discuss the product, repairs, or help running the machines, I'd be happy to help.
