polkas. She has about 80 years experience at it. I don't see where one's skin color has anything with their ability to dance, but as with any art, performance is probably a mix between talent and experience.
She once shared her purpose for dancing, was to just dance with her husband, the one she loves and has been married to since June 1, 1938.
Others view dancing as a "contest", to compete.
I suppose her view influenced me, as I see dancing as one part of a relationship, and in that light a person being better or not, based on skin color or whatever, has no relevance, if one is only concerned with dancing with the one they love. That's how I see dancing, but I respect that others may view dancing differently.
I've read where cannibals dance around the pot with their dinner stewing in it, so certainly dancing can mean different things to many people.
