5-a-day juicing vs V8?
hi, i'm new to
juicing and using the anthony worral thompson
juicing machine (http://www.abbode-cookware.co.uk/acatalog/AWT%20JUICER%20NEW%20BE2000-P.JPG), i've been blending 5 fruit and veg in one go (2 carrots, kiwi, apple, pear) and coming out with about 300ml of juice, which seems very little... is this really the same as eating 5-a-day, if i get my fibre elsewhere? the pulp does seem a little moist but rejuicing it 2 or 3 times doesnt have much effect.
i was also wondering whether it would be easier to abandon the juicer and drink v8 instead, however for some reason a couple of sites (eg
http://www.waitrose.com/food_drink/nutrition/askournutritionist.asp) say v8 can only be equivalent to one or 2 of your 5 portions, which i dont understand seeing as v8 claims to be made from 8 varieties of veg, and the juice seems thicker than what i get from my juicer.
thanks for any advice!
oh, also a follow-up question; what kind of vegetables aren't suitable for juicing. i guess i cant just throw a handful of mushrooms or sweetcorn in there, can i?
