Re: 5-a-day juicing vs V8?

Hi, I think I'm understanding you correctly in that you're saying you're getting your 5 a day fruit and veges (minus the fibre) in 1 glass of juice??
Hmmmm. I have a centrifugal (old as the hills) juicer which would give me about 400mls from the amount of produce you mentioned. The juicer leaves me with a very dry pulp. I guess your juicer isn't really doing too badly...

...But. If this is your only source of fruit and veges each day I would probably look at adding some greens. Generally the greener the better. They contain important minerals. Also, if you are taking your entire days worth of fruit and vegetables in one sitting you need to know the antioxidants, enzymes and other important things in your juice are only active in your body a short while so it's better to space your days fresh fruit and veges quota throughout the day. 5 per day is a conservative amount if you're wanting to ensure good health. 2 fruits and 5 veges is probably more on the mark (though still conservative!). And don't forget green vegetables. Perhaps you are taking other supplements throughout the day which take care of this???.

Good to juice:
Cabbage, Kale, parsley, cilantro, spinach, celery, cucumber,
carrots, beets, apple.

Forget V8. It's better than nothing but it's not that great to be frank.

Thats just my personal thoughts on it, hopefully you'll get some more input too.

Cheers.
