Question about juicing Beets

Hi, hopefully you all can help my husband and I settle this question....

How big is an average beet? The ones we bought were about 2" in diameter, and he juiced 4 of them, along with some other veggies. We split the juice, and then I asked him what was in it and he said 4 beets, etc, etc.. (can't recall). My mind stuck on the 4 beets thing since I have read on here that you should never juice more than 1/4 of a beet because it is so potent. So, that would have meant that he should have juiced 1/2 a beet since we split our juice. I had no side effects, and neither did he from the juice. I waited to get sick, but didn't.. yeah!

He said that he thinks we bought especially small beets, and that he is accustomed to beets being about 6" in diameter, and in that case we should only juice 1/2 of one.

What size is an average beet, and how much do you juice? Thanks for any help with this!
