You've misread my post my friend. I don't think I've contradicted myself at all. I don't claim to know (or care) if there is a connection between E.C. and fordyce spots. I am just pointing out your misunderstanding of the function of these glands. Your lips obtain their moisture primarily from saliva. You body naturally moisturizes the deeper layers of your lips but the outer layer is moisturized by yourself.

"These glands are a disfunction of the body". They are not normal, functioning glands in the way that normal skin with natural glands function.

I didn't mean to contradict and start an argument, I am just informing you and everyone else of the facts. There is much research on this.

And Fordyce spots are VERY common. MOST people have them. Do some research if you don't believe me. It's just the way it is.

You may or may not have had them before e.c. I don't know.

I'm in the same boat as you my friend. I have both e.c. and fordyce spots. My lips peel way beyond my spots, but I do understand where your concerns come from. I'm just trying to give you some info. Take it or leave it. Tweet
