You didn't say if it was on the inside or outside of the ear. I am assuming it is on the inside. I am a holistic dog breeder and have experienced this before. I think it is probably yeast. When I had this with a puppy, it was the same symptoms but I did not get a diagnosis from a vet. I took Colloidal Silver and apple cider vinegar, mixed them together, it doesn't take much. I gently wiped the ears with this with a cotton ball and then squeezed a little into the ear. We did this 2-3 times a day and within a couple days it was gone! I was amazed! Make sure you use the vinegar with the mother in it. Good luck!
