Re: What is “clathration?” What are the ingredients in PCA-Rx? [a product that claims it performs “clathration”] and what might they do for heavy metal detoxification?
Hi -
I enjoyed the original lengthy post, but was curious as to the difficulty of finding a word defination of the term clathration. I found that prevelant medical dictionaries and chemistry definitions to be perfectly discriptive, and therefore consider that the marketers of PCA RX have used the word in perfect context.
A common defination is as follows:
...Of or relating to inclusion complexes in which molecules of one substance are completely enclosed within the crystal structure of another.
This defination is a common chemistry definition, and I found thousands of references, including biological references and medical ones.
Furthermore, if one still doubts, then a simple analysis of the actual word origin is as follows:
[Latin clthrtus, past participle of clthrre, to furnish with a lattice, from clthr, cltra, lattice, from Greek klithra, pl. of klithron, door bar, from kleiein, to close.]
I found the above information in less than two minutes of research.
