Yes it's the same but you should read the Iodine forum for more info and take Iodine and Iodide together as in lugols, plus add the companion nutrients especially selenium. potassium Iodide is very safe and can be used in gram amounts for treatment . The iodide(KI) is beneficial for lung problems and could be used alone for this but best use smaller amounts initially and gauge your reaction
