I agree that liberal belief systems enacted by government tend to be socialistic - I am just saying that, however misguided, those beliefs normally do not have bad motives behind them.  But then government tends to make a mess of many things and as the saying goes, the best government is the least government.

I did not say that YOUR beliefs were shaped by prejudices and fears, just that those of many of the "common" Bubba conservatives were.

Maybe I have not met enough "common liberals", since most that I know are pretty bright. On the other hand, living here in Texas I have met a very great many Bubbas.
