Re: Talking to Strangers on the Phone
You're young, herb-gal, too young to be tied down in a relationship---especially with someone who treats you badly. You've been through a lot--losing the twins--and didn't get the support you badly needed from him. Break away from him. The time for that is long past. Concentrate on getting your degree. At this point in your life that should be your main priority. You still have many years ahead of you to launch your career, marry, raise a family.
Truth be said, I had to read what you wrote twice to be sure I read correctly. What chilled me in particular was you saying that you were talking about sex with someone who is a total stranger to you! That went way beyond ordinary chit chat. If this person has bad intentions, discussing sex with him certainly isn't helping.
This is far different than making small talk with people in a store, for example. There's nothing wrong with chatting with someone who is waiting in line like you as long as you don't share personal info. Just simple chit chat like griping about the long line, the weather, or complimenting someone on their outfit. Things like that are nice and are a way for us to make connections--however fleeting--with others. Talking to total strangers on the phone for a few hours and broaching a subject like sex---well that crosses a line and could well threaten your safety.
In the meantime, try to find out who he is. Google the phone number or enter it into one of those reverse phone number directories. It's good to put a name to an anonymous voice. I'm not trying to scare you but if you have a name and he calls again, you can go to the authorities if he is persistent.
