Re: Potassium Bicarbonate added to water - what do you think?

Hi Hveragerthi - sorry for the delay in replying (I hope you somehow see this message!). As for the phytoestrogens, I've heard enough people (with estrogen-dominance issues) say that they worsen estrogen-dominance symptoms for me to try to avoid them as much as possible. For example, Julia Chang at
http://www.sensiblehealth.com
warns against them - primarily based on her own experience. What's more - she claims that Swedish Bitters contain phytoestrgens, and when she tried them, they worsened her symptoms in the long run (see for yourself on this page - it's under the "Liver Cleansing" section, a little more than halfway down the page --
http://www.sensiblehealth.com/Journey-01.xhtml
). I'm very interested in following her protocol - I'm at the point where I'm trying to get things into gear a.s.a.p. A cursory, incomplete search on Curzone yielded some posts hailing Chang's method. But I have to say...I'm getting tired of seeing heatlh websites lay the case for a particular supplement or method (often referring to "research") - then discover that this site just so happens to be selling the very supplement(s) so positively expounded upon on the site. Julia Chang's site seems convincing - but she presents her info to indicate that, where many of the "proven" methods of liver-cleansing fail because of the high phytoestrogen content of these methods - she has discovered the "Holy Grail" "safe" method of Liver Cleansing for estrogen-dominant people. It really makes me want to choose her method, because I've somehow been "assured" that her method is effective and phytoestrogen-free. I may be watching myself get suc***ed in, I don't know. And of course, a cursory search of the Internet tells me that her site is practically the only site where you can purchase these particular herbs in their appropriate combinations (You can purchase Swedish Bitters from lots of places - heck, I saw a bottle of it in Whole Foods the other day. But Chinese Bitters? Not so much.). She's asking for $100 for the complete "liver cleansing" set.

About those women feeling upset when they read your anti-progesterone cream posts - I can understand how they were feeling. Honestly, it didn't give me a good feeling when I read your position on progestrone cream (PC). It's hard when you've been convinced that PC is sort-of a "miracle balm" (with a few precautions) - and you've been planning for over a year for it to be a centerpiece of your road to recovery - then, BAM, the rug is pulled from underneath. "STAY AWAY FROM PROGESTERONE CREAM. IT'S BAD NEWS!!" - I didn't want to hear this, lol. The only strong "red flag" I had noticed was the fact that California has banned sales of PC on the grounds that it is potentially "carcinogenic". But I didn't flinch - I just figured that Cali was living up to its weirdo stereotype and was on some other planet, lol.

What is your take on lecithin? I've recently read about how lecithin is a good, decongesting aid for the liver (it dissoves bile-salts/gallstones, allegedly). I bought some several weeks ago, and have been using it (off and on). I also bought it for it's supposed mind-boosting/mind-clearing effects (I've had HUGE problems with brain-fog) - and it has been a real dud in that department. It's hard to tell whether it has helped my liver - if it has, the effects have been unnoticeable.
