Re: --Lack of seeing what you are saying yourself??????--
I think this discussion is a great illustration of how acids and alkaline work together to create matter... in this case, living tissue\matter.
Too many acids without alkaline minerals for catalytic peptides\enzymes and there is degeneration\disease... too many alkaline minerals without the acids... no catalytic peptides\enzymes and degeneration\disease.
A search for copper based proteins or peptides will show that deficiencies in copper are indicated in osteoporosis, skin conditions, blood vessel rupture, bone and joint issues, premature graying and hair loss... etc.
Granted, silica is also indicated in them.
Is it the only mineral or nutrient needed... no, not by a long shot, however it is one of the more commonly indicated deficiencies. When we look at a list of copper rich foods, I doubt many get what they need. The same could be observed with silica...
Your reference to silica is timely,, given I have been discussing this with another by email... Kervran's work is interesting re: silica.
