Re: SURVEY: Who's marriage is on the rocks since you had the IUD put in?

I won't assign all blame for the breakup of my relationship to Mirena, but I will say this, it was certainly a contributing factor. The decrease in my sex drive, the increase in my irritability and depression, the physical changes to my body (a distended abdomen on a small frame is much more noticeable) all contributed to the end of our relationship. As my side effects increased, I started a slow and steady slide downhill and our relationship was not strong enough to survive those effects. All that being said, I accept that it happened and have no anger - just disappointment. Perhaps had my doctor informed me that certain systemic side effects were possible, I would have been able to watch for early signs and know that this birth control was not working out for me.
