Re: SURVEY: Who's marriage is on the rocks since you had the IUD put in?
No, look, while I don't dispute that some women have problems while using/after using Mirena, I originally had my doubts about it but I've ended up being quite the Mirena convert.
I've had 3 miscarriages and have bled almost constantly since the 3rd miscarriage and I was seriously considering a hysterectomy and I'm only 28. My second gyno (my first was an a$shole) suggested Mirena after conducting every test known to man and coming up with nothing. Since then I've had a couple of 1-2 week periods and then a day or two of spotting and essentially nothing.
Whether this helps me in the long run, only time will tell, but in terms of making me snappy, nasty, bitchy, whatever and threatening my marriage, no, I haven't had a problem. I've been tired/depressed for years but that I've always put down to epilepsy and
Depression medication and since being on Mirena, it's not really been any different, but I have discovered that there are herbal medications that can (and have) help(ed) massively like ginseng.... I've supplemented my diet and it's made a huge difference. Mirena is not to blame in my case, and I implore anyone on it to at least explore alternatives before declaring without a doubt that Mirena is to blame.
