I am far younger than you , slim but unfortunate I was diagnosised with hypertension as well, The beta blocker, a similar medication you are taking which works by reducing your heart rate, would not be a good medication for some people and it could be dangerous,and fatal


I was put on a 24 hour blood pressure minitor to check my blood pressure every half hours. You may also try this In this way, your doctor can have a better picture of your blood pressure. You should also asked your doctor to put you on a 24 hours blood pressure monitor to have a full picture of your blood pressure and at best , with on medcation during the test. If your doctor is not willing to do so, u should seek second opinion. A 24 hours blood pressure monitors can determine if you are really having hypertension

For the past fourteen months, apart from other medications, I am on tritace , a ACE inhibitor which controls my blood pressure for 24 hours . I take one in the morning . .Actually, I am more active after changing the medication,

Actually, you should consider a change in medication before you experience serious side effects in beta blocker, before it is too late. There is another kind of medication which reduce heart rate, calcium channel blocker, adalat. I am responding poorly to this tablet as well,It increase my blood pressure too and experience side effects. Hence , creating further heatlh issues that it try to avoid

I strongly advise you to talk to your doctor about switching to other medication or other therepy . You should also have a full blood test and 24 hours urine test, stress test, echo test if you have not already have one, kidney scan and lung x ray, etc.
