Ever been to Euclid Beach Park ?

I spent lots of time on the Flying Turns. Popcorn balls, Euclid Beach Custard, Taffy. I remember the Dance Hall. The Fun House. Racing Coasters. More. Like the racing horses, which they moved to Cedar Point.

My gramps would take me there when I was about 6, give me about $4 and I had a blast with the friends I made, every week. Back then, times were safer, a parent could turn their kid loose in an amusement park like that, all on their own, without having to worry about any criminals, kidnappings, etc.

Then came the "social revolutions" for "rights" of various types. Now you can't let your kid out of your sight.

Such a deal.

An uncle of mine used to manage the dance hall. When the Humphrey's sold the place, they sold it to him, and he developed it into skyrise apartments. Made a couple bucks.
