Yes you can but it depends upon what type of gallstone. Only those stones that are hard enough to reflect sound will show up on an ultra sound test. Many Gallstones are very soft or little more than congealed bile. It all depends how you define a Gallstones and different medical practitioners, surgeons and alternative health providers define them differently. Even thick bile has the capability to mimic the conditions of a gallstones. This thick bile is called biliary sludge which is not just a common nickname but also a medical term.
