There was a thread here some time ago which discussed the effects of "tasting" during a fast.
The consensus was that it interferes with fasting and is best to not "taste" anything.
Someone was trying to pacify the urge to taste something by putting food in the mouth and spitting it out.
I'm unable to find it. Maybe someone would remember that discussion. Tweet
