Re: Staph Scalp Folliculitis

All I know about my folliculitis is that the doctor didn't even bother with a culture till I asked for one after having seen him after two years on and off about my condition. I told him how resistant my folliculitis had become to anti-biotics since I had quit taking them. He told me it would take a couple of weeks to grow the speciman and less than a week later they called me and said the biopsy didn't show any irregular growth rate of the bacteria. They didn't qualify what type it was or anything. He's a lousy Dr. anyway because his focus is not skin disorders but beauty treatments where all the money is. I've never found a derm I like and so I just stopped pursuing it as anti-biotic side effects are more problematic for me than my folliculitis. I have no idea what type of folliculitis I have, but I know it is bacterial of some kind because it did respond to anti-biotic treatment once for two months which was the best two months of my folliculitis life.
