Staph Scalp Folliculitis

Hello all,
I'm a 22 year old male who was just diagnosed with folliculitis of the scalp caused by Staph Aureus. My syptoms include pimples and pustules on the scalp that are either painful or itchy. It seems there is some cross over between this condition and the FD counterpart. I saw a photo of a male who just shaved his head to treat this condition....he doesn't look to have a scarring alopecia but a folliculitis similar to mine instead. I notice most members with the FD vairant respond to cortico steriods suggesting an immune disfunction related to a hypersensitivity reaction to the Staph Aureus bacteria. For those who are suffering with a non-scarring variant what have you been treated with? My biopsy called my condition a perifolliculitis caused by S Aureus. Any one have a similar condition? My derm seems to think my nasal nares were colonized by the bacterium and are repeatedly infecting my scalp. He believes a course of antiobiotics as well as intranasal antiobiotics should treat it. Maybe those suffering with a similar condition could try this. What do you all think??
