Hi, I'm new to the forum.

First of all hydrogen peroxide is a disinfectant, the chemical formula is H2O2; if I'm not mistaken, when applied, 2 particles of H2O2 (Hydrogen-Peroxid) combine giving H2O + H2O + 02. So basically water + water + oxygen; molecular oxygen can then form Reacting Oxygen Species(ROS)which combine with bacteria DNA, this leads to the death of the bacteria. I live in Italy and here it's a normal procedure to apply hydrogen peroxide on a cut or on a graze to prevent an infection.

Secondly, urea should also be an "agent that promotes keratolysis", so basically it should promote the lysis of the highest layer of our skin tissue.

So probably what is keeping your lips in such a good condition is the urea; actually not so long ago, a dermatologist told me to try usying a keratolytic product on my EC to contain the growth, so there you go.....

I don't think it's the final solution though; but I'm happy that it's working for you, I'haven't tried it yet because I'm following an Omeopathic pocedure based on turmeric and malatonin.
