As Jon mentioned, sodium chlorite is activated by the acids inside your stomach. Unfortunately, this method of activation is not as predictable as external activation.

You can make an excellent mouthwash by putting 17 - 25 drops of Miracle-Mineral-Supplement in 250 ml of water. When you swish this in your mouth, it becomes activated and you also absorb a little ClO2 through your gums during this activation. Not only do you end up with good dental hygiene, but this may work as a maintenance dose as well.

By the way, Jim Humble also gives the conversion factor for using stabilized oxygen instead of Miracle-Mineral-Supplement . Both products work the same, but you need to use more of the stabilized oxygen.

As far as the taste goes, Jim Humble reported 100% success using a dose that had around 1 PPM free ClO2 in it. At this concentration there is very little taste at all.
