Cool. You may wish to figure out a way to have some sort of circulation fan inside of the unit so the steam is more evenly distributed instead of hanging out at the top. Steam rises, of course. But you are working with water and electricity, so I'm not sure how to advise you.

Why not use the silicone sheeting entirely instead of glass? Unless you have a cheap source of glass. Also, it sounds like you would have to have a step ladder to get into it.

The web site I found last week, offered reinforced silicon sheeting. I imagine some type of a zipper could be sewn onto that, or even Velcro might be better...

And if you wanted to do away with the 'made in china' steam generator, a modified hot plate might work.

Or, even better. Just use the frame of the 'made in china' unit, and re-clad it with the silicon sheeting.

You have a lot of options.
