Re: 48688, Running, Trapper, 89866, everyone...

Oh gee, you're right, 89866...I forgot about that.

But...

...Dentists are human. A lot of them don't want to work with the stuff anymore. I even see them with protective gear and procedures. AIDS is in there, too...and more. I wonder how many are upgrading their own mouths. I also have wondered where are the old-timer dentists.

...A lot of old-time ways have vanished simply by the usage of new ones.

For instance, it used to be illegal, around here, to use anyone's own telephone against them. It was illegal to dun by telephone. If a person owed money, and was overdue in a payment, the creditor was NOT allowed to telephone the debtor for payment. Collection procedures had to be done in person...or by mail.

Imagine that!

And, if the debtor called the creditor, promising to make payment by Friday, the creditor had to be very careful not to verbally accept the new arrangement in the contract.

The creditor had to say something like, "I'll be glad to see you on Friday." ...Because acceptance of the new arrangement (to wait until Friday) meant that, in law, a new, verbal, contract had been established. The debtor had indicated an 'intention to pay', and the creditor may have inadvertantly verbally accepted it.

Tell that to bill collectors today! Bull force and ignorance! ...As long as the debtor doesn't complain and take steps.

It's my impression that the old laws are eroded by practice...long before they are changed by legislation. Fertile ground for lawsuits, methinks.

I'll never forget the first time I saw an ad for dentistry...it was a banner hung across a building. I was surprised, even shocked. I had never seen that done before. I was about seventeen years old.

Dentistry will change...it has to. Too many people are wising up. When we will no longer pay for mistakes, dentists will change their ways, rather than starve.

You and I are already making a difference.

I just like to dream up happy ways to avoid problems.

I mean, why not?

:D
