Fledgling:

Should you find out a natural way to kill bamboo without killing the trees around it - pleeeeeeze do post. We have bamboo and its growing around our japanese cherry trees and it makes it near impossible to do anything. I also would like to avoid killing any earthswhile creatures in eradicating this invader.

It makes it difficult to work when the same job appears the next month, you pull all the ivy out and clean your trees of it, then next moth: there it is again!

Same with Bamboo and vinca!

Now I make sure to check the 'invading species' site before planting anything and - when disposing not to throw in the garbage. They will go on to invade other areas!!!!!

Just put in an area to dry out completely and die, then maybe add to a campfire or cover with lyme and in the compost bin!

Never knew beautiful wisteria was so destructive! Always thought I'd plant one sometime.

Now have begun investigating "native gardening" - it sounds like it may be the best way to maintain balance.

All my best...
