Selling a magnificent Wisteria?
It was cut down to a stump a year or more ago...but has bounced back to the point that it is now encroaching on the alley and wanting to engulf the garage once more.
The garage isn't strong enough to hold it.
This plant (tree?) was brought from England (to south-western Canada) about 35 years ago and grew, over the garage, to become a heritage plant in this town.
Passing automobiles in the front street would stop, and back up, to get another look at it down the alley.
At least one neighbor stayed indoors when it was cut down, unable to watch.
Now that the vines are vigorously reaching out once more, it is obvious that the plant must be dug up or, at least, be chopped again.
This is the beginning of my search for information.
Is a wisteria propigated from cuttings, or from roots? ...Or both?
I am thinking that a fine landscape architect, or a large nursery would purchase this plant, or cuttings from it...perhaps for a few years.
Once propigated, and those cuttings are grown to a decent size, the value of the mother plant would decrease, of course, but I can't see wasting this one for a while yet.
Any ideas?
