Foiled again :-( (long)
Some of you may remember, if not, I was using both
Lugol's and Iodoral
most of 2007 up through September, when I stopped due to some odd
symptoms, one of them swelling and pain in left knee. In June I found
out my kidneys are inflamed and I have an overall acidic condition, and
I had not long before that found out my adrenals were way out of whack, and
I was having severe insomnia for some time prior to that and contining.
After being on a new program of homeopathics
and capsules for the adrenals, and more homeopathics for my pancreas and
tryptophan for insomnia, and colloidal minerals in homeopathic form, and
3 different neurotransmitter homeopathics (I'm deficient in serotonin,
dopamine and acetylcholine), I got to where I was feeling a bit better.
Brain fog and severe memory deficits continue, however. The left knee function
was not 100% back to normal but doing much better in the past couple
of months or so. I recently started using magnascent
Iodine again, going up by
a drop per day till I reached 7 drops, 2x daily, mixed in water and
collagen peptide powder (for bone, joint and cartilage health). I chose
the magnascent to start with because I believed it to be the safest and
gentlest form. I kept
this up for around 2 weeks--was at 14 drops daily for just a few days--
when my knee started swelling and hurting again. I had no choice but
to quit again. Now I have a new symptom: high blood pressure. Never
had had it before late June, when I doctor I saw for one visit for
chelation and a DMPS IV challenge test, informed me my BP was in the
a chelation program (and a DMPS IV challenge test) informed me my BP was
160s over around 100. Note that I was not on
Iodine at this time.
I was shocked, it had always been totally
normal. I had had the adrenal problem for some time by then, and the
frequent urination started back in spring of '07. My primary doctor
did not find anything wrong with kidneys and did not look at adrenals,
when examined in Oct. '07. I thought the high bp reading in June '08
was a fluke,
till my RN friend took my BP in mid-July and again today. The reading
was 158/102 today. Of course I believe this is secondary to the kidney
inflammation, but what is causing that, I am not really sure. I was sure
that stopping the
Iodine last Sept. would turn around whatever symptoms
I had, but instead they continued and only got better recently. I was
not 100% percent convinced anyway that the iodine was the ultimate
cause of my symptoms, the reason I experimented with it again. This time
the knee swelling and pain is worse, as I had arthroscopic surgery last
Christmas and now there is popping that I did not have before. The knee
is so swollen I cannot exercise and tried yoga for first time all week, and
had to be very careful and eliminate some asanas, just as before. I don't
really want to go to my primary doctor and shell out a $15 co-pay just to
confirm the BP reading. He didn't find a kidney problem anyway, that was
something my QXCI-SCIO practitioner found with the saliva test I did back
in late June. I took Newport's advice and am using R-LA and am waiting
for the SeMe to come in (I have been using methyl-seleno-cysteine, which
I guess is the wrong kind; it's from Jarrow). The root cause
may be residual mercury left in my tissues which did not get chelated
out in 2000-02 when I was chelating with DMSA. I did not
know about R-LA then, but my doctor did have me on ALA. I do not know
what else could be burdening my kidneys. My diet is excellent, I do not
use any stimulants, I have a relatively low-stress job most of the time
(like any job there are stresses), and nothing to really get stressed
about, other than spending virtually all of my money on supplements and
diagnostic tests and lab tests and treatments that do not work. The
eczema on my left hand continues, is very painful, burns and itches
by turns and the skin cracks, even in the webbing between my fingers,
and if that isn't painful, I don't know what is. I have come to the
conclusion that it must be candida, though I am not having any other
yeast-related symptoms, the occasional abdominal bloating, but nothing
like it used to be. My QXCI-SCIO test did not bring up any heavy metals
issues, but I have heard it said that the tests run on this
sort of diagnostic machines are not always accurate.
If anyone has any comments or advice to offer, please do post!
thanks so much, and sorry this got to be so long.
