Re: What are your thoughts on the Gravidyne
Glad you liked that stove.
My view of this upcoming financial collapse is to look at it as if we are going into an extended (indefinitely) period of camping out. So, obtaining some decent gear is important.
The stove I really like too, I have not yet tried it but I may pull it out this fall to give it a go. Got to spring it on my partner at some time. I was so impressed with the 5 gallon water tank (really solid and well built), that I thought it would be great to have two of them - to have plenty of hot water if we need it. The warming tray is just for warming and to put stuff there to help in cooking. It is removable, which then allows for the second water tank to attach.
Yes, the waterwise hose into a five gallon jug is what I got in mind also. Is the reason why I have to break it out of the box and give it a go. And get the measurement for the extra length of hose.
When I was considering the use of the waterwise over an open fire and how blackened the thing would become in just a short amount of time, I started looking for a good wood burning camp stove. Ran across this thing which can be used in a Wall Tent (these can get quite expensive when you order it with as many windows as I would like to have along with a front and back door & screen).
But I am considering to get just the tent frame (poles & corner pieces) and the white relite fly without the tent (which would also have a opening for the stove pipe). As I would like to have a comfortable cooking area that could handle rain and snow in the winter time. The house we are living in would be the tent.
Have been also into making sauerkraut, its the best! From one of your posts I saw that you have obtained a fermenting jar, with some sort of valve on top. Been looking but can not seem to locate one that looks similar. Although my search has led me to a nice brush for cleaning out 5 gallon water bottles.
best...
