Re: What are your thoughts on the Gravidyne

Wow~! I LOVE that little stove, especially that it
has a hot water heater. It would appear that the
Waterwise Distiller could be used on the top??

I have used the Waterwise. I went to the hardware
store, (Lowes's), and bought a long piece of clear
hosing approved for water use and then ran the hose
from the distiller right into a 5 gallon jug. It
kept distilling just fine.

Thanks for the head's up on approved pumps. I will
look on Lehman's (love them) and see if there are
alternatives. We have another pump on the property
that IS a hand pump. It is sorely in need of priming
though. Also a couple of ponds and a lake within
walking distance.

I suppose the more people tell me to invest in gold
and silver, the more I want to invest in "things"
which would be used to sustain the number of people
we have out here in our neck of the woods. I do have
a wish list...ggg...and family willing to indulge my
"need" to put together a small cache of survival/
thrival gear. For my birthday this month, I was
gifted with some Earthboxes, (container gardening
with minimal water usage), a fermenting set up which
is so efficient, I now find myself plying everyone
I know with containers of sauerkraut, and a tool
box with hand tools. Nothing electric...lol.

I like the peace of mind it gives me to make some
preparations. Of course, many things you can use now
and so that is also satisfying.

Thank YOU for sharing your information and especially
the new gizmos you are finding useful. If you break
out your stove and use it, let me know how you like
it, and if wood works as well as the suggested charcoal.
Is that flat area above the firebox just a warming tray
or can you actually use it as a cooking surface??
The hot water holder on the side is splendid as I
have been camping in the snow and something like a
hot water bottle is such a luxury and makes going to
sleep a breeze. That gizmo would make filling one a
cinch...ggg.

best wishes,
Zoe
