Re: Recommendations
Update: I've been taking the Candidase with some other anti-Candida products and the coating has gone down a bit (it seems to have retreated more towards the back a bit). I still get the burping,"food sticking" feeling and below throat irritation, but it's less.
I'm seeing a holistic doctor with a good rep that was advertised on the radio. Once I got there they did a lot of quick diagnostic tests (blood sugar, cholesterol, etc.). I found out I have low cholesterol and I'm a type A+ blood type. I also found out I'm supposed to reduce dairy/meat consumption and gravitate more towards fish/tofu/vegetables. I'm a huge meat/cheese eater, and when they heard this they told me I'd drop pounds very fast if I switched to my blood type diet, which I am going to try.
The doctor I'm seeing is the best in the clinic where he works, he trained the other naturopaths there. He uses acupressure/chiropractic methods/kinesieology and something called "Neuro Emotional Techniques". He felt the various organs and discovered my gallbladder was very tender, as well as some lymph areas near my neck.
I am an extreme layman when it comes to natural healing, so I may need some advice from you guys. He uses a method where you lay on your back and hold various tubed substances in your hand. He has you raise your arm up and applies pressure downwards. He says he observes whether my arm strengthens/weakens based on the interaction with the substance. The reasoning is that the body energy interacts with it.
He did a test with Juniper (the stuff gin is made of) and concluded I reacted fine to it. When he tried the alcohol tube, my arm weakened. He then placed a tube of B6 (wasn't telling me the names of it as he was doing it, in order to avoid placebo) on my stomach and the strength of my upward movement increased a large amount. He said I am the most B6 deficient patient he's seen and prescribed 6 B6-Niacinamide vitamins a day, every morning.
He had said my symptoms of the burning and irritation near my neck (which often can radiate to my neck, back, and up the side of my head lately) is due to nerves. They have various treatment plans like spinal alignment and all sorts of interesting methods. He said it was not likely acid reflux, since the Protonix and antacids did not help me, but he also said if there was some minor reflux present, it could be corrected through treatment.
I had talked to another holistic doctor over the phone in San Diego (before I saw this one) who told me that the hernia is the cause for all my problems and that I "won't get better till it comes down". He suggested hanging from a bar/door for 10 seconds, 4 times a day, for 3 months, and if that failed, visceral manipulation would be needed. This made me bring it up with Dr. V (the holistic doctor I'm seeing) and he felt for the hernia. He said it was likely to be inactive as I was lieing there since it was sliding and he couldn't feel it. It was also a very small hernia.
He told me visceral manipulation could be done but that at this point, it was such a small hernia, and sliding (moving) that it would likely be corrected by the B6 and other treatment.
This doctor seems like the real deal, I don't smell any quackery. He even divides his session into two parts where he collects data, then has you come back the next day for a full plan (but talks to you on the day of gathering info as well). I brought everything from the endoscopy reports to blood tests. I had an appointment today but I ran a flat tire on the way, so I had to reschedule for tomorrow.
Any feedback on this?
Also, I noticed that my constant burping (and guaranteed 1-2 burps whenever I move from a lying position to a sitting one) happened after taking the Protonix in late June. I read that it irreversibly and permanently disables certain acid ducts in your stomach. This lead me to call the doctors office and ask (the allopathic gastroenterologist). The secretary told me I was the first person to ask this, and couldn't explain why the product would state "irreversible blocking" when it had to be taken on a daily basis.
I'm worried that by taking the Protonix in June, I might've set myself up for some long-term stomach trouble. Is it reversible?
I've been taking Betaine HCL for the burping, but does that supplement cause an acidic condition or worsen an acidic condition?
Thanks
