Re: Testimonial: Face painting with iodine is clearing skin discoloration

Thanks for the great information. Here is a bit of info for you.
I had 2 bee stings on my leg last year about June time frame and I put Iodine on a bandage and applied to my skin over the stings. I react bad to stings and bug bites. I usually do not swell up until 24 hours later and I do mean swell up and have to have a shot to stop the swelling. There was a small amount of swelling 24 hours later but the skin boiled up. I had 2 boils at one sight and 1 at the other sting sight. I then drained the boils. Instead of my entire leg swelling the sight blistered from the iodine. It took several months for the skin to heal up to the point that it did not look nasty. I had two very square raised scars over the winter months. One year later, and the scars are fading finally and look like light colored birth marks. I should have posted pictures last year when it happened but did not think it all important then. I've pretty much decided that Iodine needs to breath on the skin. Covering it so tightly might have been a mistake but then again it may have caused the Iodine to work it's wonders on the stings and keep me from having to visit the E.R.

I paint my neck and chin with Lugol's quite often with no burning but if I get it into my cheek area it burns like snockers! Then my eyes tear up too! Wombat cream is the dream for my cheeks.
