I've been supplementing with
Iodine for a little over a month, taking 16 drops in water once per day in the morning in addition to all the supplements recommended here on this amazing forum. When I wasn't taking the supplements (especially vitamin C), I broke out is HUGE zits that were really awful. Thanks to all the work of the pioneers here, I've been able to benefit from
Iodine and avoid a lot of the negatives. I also credit myself for spending a year and a half working on clearing all my organs of toxins (I'm not done with detoxing yet, but I'm close.)
But what I really wanted to do is to post a testimonial about my experience with face painting because there really isn't all that much information about it on curezone. I've suffered from 10+ years of discoloration on my face that looks like big blotches of dirt. It has been caused by a lot of things: I've had
Acne my entire adult life (it started when I was 10 years old, and I've still got it at 36). I used retin-a as a child and I believe that it contributed to a lot of sun damage. I also used birth control pills which contributed to hormone imbalance. Other hormone imbalance was caused by an underactive thyroid gland AND a malfunctioning liver.... But I digress.
So, I started painting my face with
Iodine because, hey, it couldn't hurt. Well, I mean, it could hurt (as others warned here on this forum), but I figured the risk was worth it. And they weren't kidding! The first few times it stung really bad. REALLY bad. I quickly learned that I needed to wash my face, apply moisturizer and vitamin E oil, and then paint once. And then let my face slough off the dead skin (usually 2-3 days later).
I've looked awful these past 3 weeks (that's how long I've been doing it). But the results are nothing less than miraculous! Here's my routine--I paint on Friday night and Saturday morning. 2 times on one weekend. The next day, Sunday, my face is pretty raw (like I got an acid peel--those awful procedures that dermatologists claim help with melasma--which NEVER do). Monday, my face is actively peeling. And Tuesday's the same. By Wednesday and Thursday, my skin starts to return to a more normal color (it's pretty pink/red).
I'm pretty brutal to my face on Monday and Tuesday--I like to sit in a hot bath and let the dry scaly skin soften. Then I run my fingernails over everything. What comes off is black--black skin. The dead, discolored, awful skin that I've been agonizing over for years.
I've seen huge patches of skin--especially on my left temple (where I got some of the worst sun damage, probably b/c that's the side the sun hit my face when I drove to work)--literally turn from black to dark brown to white. This is happening all over my face. I don't remember ever having white skin, skin that I could face the world with. I've always covered it up with makeup because it's so mottled. And now, I'm joyously looking forward to the day when I can go outside without covering it up.
Some people here claim that iodine will scar you. And that definitely hasn't happened to me. Other people claim that it can remove moles--and I've seen moles on my face get super inflamed, watched their 'roots' come out, and then seen them never completely go away; they just fade to a much lesser version of themselves. I know that everyone's skin is different. And everyone is at a different place in their healing journey, so what has worked for me might not work for someone else. (I hope, however, that this posting does help someone.)
I'll keep you posted on my progress. I imagine that it'll take at least a few more months before I see real healing. I'm just so totally thrilled! I've read that skin has 16 layers (does it?), so maybe it'll take me 16 weeks to peel through all of them. Or perhaps there's some other magic number. Who knows. What I do know is that my body is healing at a remarkable rate, and I credit my 16 drops of iodine every morning.
My parting thought is that I don't think I'd have benefited from iodine half as much as I have if I hadn't spent the past year and a half cleansing my colon, my liver, my kidneys, my gallbladder, my stomach of candida and mucus build-up. I believe that it's the reason that although I've suffered from terrible
Acne most of my life that I barely breakout at all supplementing with iodine. And, of course, all the companion stuff (selenium, salt pushing, tons of vitamin c, etc.) has been KEY.
